Cheery Lynn Challenge 7 Tis the Season

This week the Challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is

TIS THE SEASON!!

This week I spent time with my granddaughter, Kaitlyn.  She was stamping a Christmas card for her family.  I was playing with embossing powder with the stamp she was coloring.  Kaitlyn came up with a challenge for Grandma. I had to create a card using the same stamp she was and the same layers. Kaitlyn had a rule though, Grandma couldn't create a fancy card like she usually does.  So this is what I created that very special day:
This was the embossed image Kaitlyn chose for me to use.  The image is from Great Impressions. It is stamped with a Versa Mark and embossed with Diamonds and Pearls Powder on black cardstock.  Cheery Lynn's Card Maker Rectangle Stacker and Card Maker Rectangle Scallop Stacker.  The large snowflake is Snowflake 6 and several snowflakes from Snowflakes. The snowflakes were cut from Stardreams paper and the DP is from Basic Grey.  Gems are from stash.  The finished size of the card is 4.25"x5.50".

Kaitlyn and I made a wonderful Christmas memory that we will treasure forever. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Cheery Lynn Challenge 7 Tis the Season!

This week the Challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is

TIS THE SEASON

This post is from my granddaughter, Kaitlyn, who is 6 1/2 years old. She spent some time with her Grandma, me, and wanted to stamp a family Christmas card for her family. She followed a card she seen and we used Cheery Lynn dies. I decided it would be fun to enter her card into the Cheery Lynn's challenge. Here is her creation:
Kaitlyn stamped a Great Impressions Snowman and colored him with Tombo Markers.  She is quite the artist and very particular in her designs.  We cut the layers out with the following dies: Card maker Rectangle Stackers and Card Maker Rectangle Scalloped.  For the border Kaitlyn chose Zig Zag RicRac.  The snow flakes are stickers from my stash and the DP is Basic Grey. The greeting is stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with Queens Gold Embossing Powder.  I introduced Kaitlyn to embossing and she loved it calling it magical!! She is very original and I have a picture of the inside of her card too:
Kaitlyn was making a card for her family at home so she drew them all even the kitty and dogs.  She did more embossing with the inside greeting. Isn't this just the cutest. I have fun with my artistic granddaughter. Her card is 4.25"x5.50" in size.
