Cheery Lynn Challenge 7 Tis the Season

This week the Challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is

TIS THE SEASON!!

This week I spent time with my granddaughter, Kaitlyn.  She was stamping a Christmas card for her family.  I was playing with embossing powder with the stamp she was coloring.  Kaitlyn came up with a challenge for Grandma. I had to create a card using the same stamp she was and the same layers. Kaitlyn had a rule though, Grandma couldn't create a fancy card like she usually does.  So this is what I created that very special day:
This was the embossed image Kaitlyn chose for me to use.  The image is from Great Impressions. It is stamped with a Versa Mark and embossed with Diamonds and Pearls Powder on black cardstock.  Cheery Lynn's Card Maker Rectangle Stacker and Card Maker Rectangle Scallop Stacker.  The large snowflake is Snowflake 6 and several snowflakes from Snowflakes. The snowflakes were cut from Stardreams paper and the DP is from Basic Grey.  Gems are from stash.  The finished size of the card is 4.25"x5.50".

Kaitlyn and I made a wonderful Christmas memory that we will treasure forever. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Cheery Lynn Challenge 7 Tis the Season!

This week the Challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is

TIS THE SEASON

This post is from my granddaughter, Kaitlyn, who is 6 1/2 years old. She spent some time with her Grandma, me, and wanted to stamp a family Christmas card for her family. She followed a card she seen and we used Cheery Lynn dies. I decided it would be fun to enter her card into the Cheery Lynn's challenge. Here is her creation:
Kaitlyn stamped a Great Impressions Snowman and colored him with Tombo Markers.  She is quite the artist and very particular in her designs.  We cut the layers out with the following dies: Card maker Rectangle Stackers and Card Maker Rectangle Scalloped.  For the border Kaitlyn chose Zig Zag RicRac.  The snow flakes are stickers from my stash and the DP is Basic Grey. The greeting is stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with Queens Gold Embossing Powder.  I introduced Kaitlyn to embossing and she loved it calling it magical!! She is very original and I have a picture of the inside of her card too:
Kaitlyn was making a card for her family at home so she drew them all even the kitty and dogs.  She did more embossing with the inside greeting. Isn't this just the cutest. I have fun with my artistic granddaughter. Her card is 4.25"x5.50" in size.

"Celebration"

Cool, huh?!! Use your imagination and come up with a card or 3-D project that illustrates some kind of celebration (for example, birthday, new job, retirement, vacation, new baby, wedding...and the list goes on and on!!)
For this card I used Mo's Between image sizing and printing it on white Cryogen and colored with Copics and Spicas.  Two Cheery Lynn dies were perfect for the Jillibean's Blossom paper. The dies used are: Fanciful Flourish and Darling Daisies.  The brads are from my stash.  The greeting is from Stamps of Life. The finished size is a 6" square.

Sweet Stamps #33 Anything But A Card

Today is our thirty third challenge on the Sweet Stamps blog.  Anyone can enter, but if you use a Sweet Stamps rubber stamp you get two entries into the challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree.  Our challenge  this week is ..

ANYTHING BUT A CARD!!

This was a difficult challenge for me!! I couldn't decide what project to make.  So, I decided on an Altered Clip Board. The Sweet Stamps I used are Poinsettia and Poinsettia Large.  I painted the clipboard with Making Memories Paint, cranberry and evergreeen.  The poinsettias on the clip board are stamped in black pigment ink.  The small Poinsettias in the photo corners  and Poinsettia Large are stamped in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink and colored with Copics.  The DP is from Basic Grey.  Lace Light Deco Border and Elegant Evergreen Die from Cheery Lynn add Christmas Flavor. The gold gems are from my stash. The ribbons are from American Crafts. The clip board was sprayed with a gloss acrylic spray.  The sweet girls on Santa's lap are my granddaughters, Kathryn and Kaitlyn.

Karen's Doodles Check It Out

Check It Out.
Karen's Doodles  wants to see checks on your project, i.e. gingham paper, checked/tartan paper etc!
For this challenge I created a long card which is unusual for me.  The image Phone a Friend, was printed on White Cryogen and colored with Copics.  The DP is from KI Memories. The following Cheery Lynn dies embellished the image, Ribbon Border with Piercings, Zig-Zag Ric Rac, Cherry Blossom, and Tropical Leaves.  The Cherry Blossoms are accented with Creative Inspiration Paint, Fairy Dust.  It is the first time I have used these paints.  The flowers are sparkly in person.  Greeting is unknown.  The gems and brad are from my stash.

Karen's Doodles Anything Goes With a Little Twist

This week at Karen's Doodles the challenge is

Anything Goes With a Little Twist

I used Karen's image Pretty Princess.

Princess was sized and printed on White Cryogen and colored her with Copics.  Spicas and Glitter Glue added some sparkle.  The bunny's tail has Liquid Applique for a fluffy look.  Pearls, gems, and flowers from my stash completed the list of embellishments. My little twist is the greeting as the center of the flower!  The following Cheery Lynn dies were used, Classic Circle XL Stackers, Circle Scallop XL Stackers, Circle Classic Lg Silver Stackers, and Border Carnivale.  The It's Your Birthday is from Stamps of Life.  Make a Wish is from Sweet Stamps.  This was for a granddaughter's 4th birthday.
The card is a 6" square.
